Writer’s Block is Setting In

Filed under: Twitter — Melinda Curle @ 2:59 pm

I’ve decided to invest some money in an article spinner and submitter software. It will save me tons of time. However, my biggest problem is that I’ve lost enthusiasm and drive for promoting some of the things I was excited about promoting online. It is a great thing that I can fall back on substitute teaching. I think putting the big picture together is simple when you have a chosen direction that you are certain about. I know there is already a ton of competition for general things. I need to be enthusiastic about a niche. It has to be a passion or I won’t be able to write anything about it at all. Today, I wrote about options. I know a lot about options, but haven’t really been successful at them, so I don’t think I could crank out more than three or four articles. Today, I also used socialoomph.com to post the links to my affiliate marketing articles on hubpages. I spent about half an hour doing that and about an hour editing and writing the hubpages articles. Somehow, I ended up with a lower hubpages score after writing more articles, but eventually I should get better at it. It is a work in progress and I’m learning more everyday.

More Researching!

Filed under: Twitter — Melinda Curle @ 3:19 pm

I decided that I will invest in an article submitter. I posted the question to the wealthy affiliate forum and the person who responded said that he dominated the first six spots in an organic search after he started using a certain article submission and article spinner. I’m very interested in doing this because I like writing. I don’t mind typing out thoughts and ideas that occur to me. In fact, often I enjoy doing it. I struggle with quality content because I’m no expert in everything, but if you do searches on the internet, you can find the information that you need to include almost instantly, so there is no need to be an expert. I just need to know where to locate information. I did more research today to try and decide what to promote online and figure out some article writing strategies. The industries that I’m interested in promoting are so overdone. While I’m tempted to use the blueprint for Strip the Fat that Wealthy Affiliate has online, I’ve read people who say not to bother entering the weight loss article marketing arena because it is saturated. I honestly have never had a weight problem, so selling someone on a dieting solution seems a little fake to me. I may try it anyway. I need to dig a little deeper and find something that I believe in and want to promote.

Research is Key

Filed under: Twitter — Melinda Curle @ 3:07 pm

For any affiliate internet marketer finding out what people want and researching the best ways to get the product to them is key to making sales. I am struggling with what I want to promote. I have written fifty articles now that are just average. I focused on getting quality content produced, but did do nearly the keyword research that I needed. I neglected it because I figured, hey, I can use expensive keywords, I’m not paying for pay per click advertising. I peppered my articles with them about 2-5% of the time. However, I don’t think that long tail keyword research ever came into play. I didn’t narrow down the field. My articles aren’t getting nearly as much exposure as I would like them to be getting. I want to branch out a little bit, but now I am in a quandry. I don’t want to jump into the make money niche so much because there is a ton of competition for it. Although there is a product that I’d like to promote. I also am not that interested in the weight loss industry, even though there is a product in that industry that I would like to promote. I guess the problem is finding something that I’m passionate about. In reality, my interests and passions change daily. So choosing one niche and sticking with it for a long time is frustrating.

Something for Everyone

Filed under: Twitter — Melinda Curle @ 9:08 am

Okay, I have to admit it. I hate posting advertisements. I love writing. I love the concept of article marketing. I love the idea that people will read my work. I love that I don’t have to post something everyday for it to be read or found online. I can simply post an article one day and months later it will be read. I hate reposting my links to twitter and reposting classified advertisements knowing that they will only be up for a few hours or a couple days. It stinks. I understand that twitter helps my articles get some traffic and that there are people who read classified advertisements, but I don’t like writing them. They seem worthless to me. I love article marketing where I can expound on any topic that I desire. It is so much more entertaining. It is a lot more difficult too though. I must admit that I have gotten out of the writing mode for a few days and when that happens it is nice to simply post links to my previous articles on twitter or advertisements to Craigslist. However, I will admit right here and now, I rather like writing. I am a fan of article marketing. Someday I hope to be making more than just a couple cents a day from adsense. But right now, that is what I’m pulling in – a few cents a day. I have discovered that the more prolific that you are when you are writing, the more money you tend to make.

Back to the Basics

Filed under: Twitter — Melinda Curle @ 12:12 pm

There is a ton of different ways to make money online. I admittedly have scattered my efforts trying to learn as much as I can without focusing on becoming efficient at one specific technique and that is why I am floundering to make money. For a couple weeks, I stuck to the strategy of three hour profits. Then I read about article marketing and dabbled in that, then I became a wealthy affiliate and found much more information and resources than I had the time to learn about. Now, I realize that I need to focus on some of the basics. I’m going to pick two products to promote and do classified advertising and article marketing only. I might spend a few minutes driving my twitter followers to my articles, but not more than twenty minutes scheduling tweets. If I don’t get all my articles posted in twenty minutes, I’m moving on and that is it. I will create and post the advertisements like they said to do in 3 hour profits. However I will not spend any more time than three hours per day on their methods. Posting classified advertisements is boring and I have absolutely no passion for it at all. The last time, I tried to cut corners with an advertising software, but I don’t believe they were placed effectively. I don’t think they made it to Craigslist the way that I created them and so now, I’m going to do the actual work for at least one month and see if my advertisements are effective. I’m also going to research opinions on article submission software. It seems like it takes a long time to get articles submitted and create backlinks.

Think Outside The Box

Sometimes as an internet marketer, you have a tendency to overlook tried and true marketing methods that are not online. For exmple, a great way to gain exposure can simply be putting an advertisement in the newspaper or in a magazine. Many time it is inexpensive or even free depending on your product. We get so caught up in the idea that everything has to be related to getting a better page rank, more exposure from social media or search engine optimization, that the traditional methods of marketing are neglected. I was making decisions on what stores to shop in from the newspaper years before internet access was available. I see a newspaper laying around somewhere everyday. People read them on the bus, at work, in their homes, and children do reports on them. Print advertising is still around and i is still effective. If your company has a simple URL, include that. Most readers will remember an eye catching headline hours later if it relates to them or sparks their interest. Driving traffic to your website does not have to be done solely through a link from a traffic exchange, a social media site or an online article. While most traffic will come from search engines, some people do type in the URLs of website that they want to view.

Reseaching For Article Submission

Filed under: Twitter — Melinda Curle @ 1:56 pm

I have learned all about backlinks and their importance. I’m thrilled to be writing and thinking up creative ways to present information. I find it entertaining and challenging, so article marketing is where it is at for me. I couldn’t stand writing a sentence and posting it on twitter. Creating classified advertisements lacked some appeal after awhile, so article marketing is my challenge right now. While I only have earned $32.96 from adsense through hubpages advertisements, I can see that amount increasing with my ever expanding amount of articles that I create. What I’m interested in getting is article submission software so that I can easily submit my articles to multiple sites for a better page ranking. I’d appreciate any advice. I’ve read some bad things about article submission software, but I’ve also read favorable opinions about it as well. The reason I’m interested in the software is that it will not only save time, but I will be able to submit multiple articles. I’m still waiting for some of my submissions to be reviewed by Buzzle and Ezine. It seems like it usually takes a week for an article to get approved, which is why I prefer Hubpages with its instantaneous publication.

Writing Up a Storm!

Filed under: Twitter — Melinda Curle @ 1:46 pm

I have been shooting for thirty articles today. I’m up to about fifteen and I want to quit. The good thing is that it is getting easier. However, I get burned out after about two hours of writing and I just can’t seem to get myself back on track. I really am considering getting an article submission software program so I won’t have to submit each one by hand. I was planning on submitting ninety articles to ten different article directories. That is going to take up a huge amount of time. Imagine if I continued to submit articles to different directories continuously. That would be exhausting. The articles that I’m currently writing are based on internet marketing promoting making money with classified advertisements. I used the information that I learned in 3hourprofits and figured out nine different situations where the online ebook would help someone. Then I tailored the writing style to that specific need. I’m looking forward to trying it out for other products onlin as well. I am enjoying becoming a more proficient writer. Hopefully I will start earning money a reliable income from my efforts, but for now, the experiences are worth the effort. Hopefully tomorrow I will find a way to hone my writing skills even more and be able to come up with thirty articles in one day.

90 articles isn’t going to happen today

Filed under: Twitter — Melinda Curle @ 1:48 pm

I had the highest of ambitions to write ninety niche articles in three days. Then I went in to substitute teach today. Administering tests and taking attendance is so mind numbing. When you write, you want to be in your best frame of mind and having thirty teenagers ignoring you when you are giving direction and trying to take advantage of you does not put me in the writing frame of mind. I just want to be like them, go home, zone out in front of a lame sitcom until dinnertime. I really love the idea of writing the articles. The idea was to take ten common problems and spin them three different ways each day. Then submit them to ten different aricle sites, which would create 900 backlinks and help bring you to the top of the organic searches in google. It is a great idea, but will take some work. I wrote six unique articles in a couple hours on Sunday, but today, I’ll be lucky if I am able to crank one article out. Maybe the person who did that was not trying to juggle an eight hour workday.

Writing Articles to Generate Traffic and Make Sales

Filed under: Twitter — Melinda Curle @ 1:27 pm

I lack confidence in my sales abilities and while I have some concept of search engine optimization (SEO) and social media marketing (SMM), I find it overwhelming to think about competing with all those people who are already online with links to their sites and backlinks. The more I learn, the more I understand why people struggle when they start trying to make money online. There is a ton of competition and unless you have a clue what you are doing you are not going to make it. Greate ideas are all over the internet. Many of the best ones you have to pay for, but you need to buy books or check them out of the library. Lots of information is free, but you don’t want to waste time sifting through a lot of useless advertisements. I read a tutorial by someone at weatlthy affiliate which explained how he created 90 articles in three days then by submitting them to ten different article sites, had 900 backlinks. Wow! That is a lot of backlinks. If you start social bookmarking those sites, it will be even more! My attempt is to write 90 articles in 3 days and submit them to article directories. Right now, hubpages has been super simple and easy to use. I am going to submit to ezine, squidoo, amazine, buzzle, articlecity, articlepro and a few others. I have confidence in my writing abilities. It should be fun.
